My Current W.I.P. (Work In Progress) Angel Cats, page one

So my current cross stitch W.I.P. is called "Angel Cats" from Design Works. I am making this for a friend of the family for her birthday which is at the beginning of June.
This is what I hope it looks like when I get finished.
So this is where we started and to tell you the truth, I had a lot of trouble sorting out the floss on this one, there are several colors that are near in shade and I don't know if my eyes are just getting old but when I finished sorting them I was missing several colors. Luckily for me the pattern listed the colors with the DMC numbers, so I raided my floss collection and pulled the colors I needed from there.
It was kinda slow going at first, and I made a mistake on the foot of the 3rd cat and had to pull it out. My mistake was using the wrong color for the center of the foot.
It started moving along but I quickly realized that my eyes are getting old and had to start using my magnifying glass to see the stitches. It makes seeing the area I'm working on a lot better.

The cats were really starting to come along but it felt like I was never going to get the first page one. The pattern has 3 1/4 pages.

Here is what the pattern looks like.
This is where it started getting exciting, page one is almost one at this point.
And finally page one was finished, this had to be the longest it ever took me to finish one page of a cross stitch.

In the next blog, I will start showing pictures of page two.

And it's finished!

Over the years, and its been lot of years, I have thoroughly enjoyed cross stitching. I have made many projects but I am really happy with this one. It was made for my cousin's little baby and since I haven't given it to her yet I do hope she loves it. It is called "Noah's Animals Baby Birth Record"

About Me, I'm the B in S&B Crafts

Since this is a crafting blog I won't bore anyone with things about my life, just about my crafting history.

I started crafting at a young age because my Mom, Grandma and several of my Aunts were all into making stuff. My Mom got me started on small plastic canvas projects like tissue box covers and a pencil case. But it wasn't until I was eight years old that I found a craft that I came to love, cross stitching. Mom had bought a bunch of kits from Creative Circle, a crafting company and I had asked to learn how to cross stitch because there was one of the kits that I had wanted to do. It was a Christmas Stocking for the next year, 1984 and so she taught me.

It wasn't easy, I had to make sure my hands were clean before I could touch the fabric, I didn't know about cleaning a finished project back then. And I had to read all of the instructions before I could begin but I learned about centering the fabric and sorting my threads and I was hooked.

Although through the years I have expanded my crafting skills to crochet (I'm not that good yet), plastic canvas, embroidery, sewing, scrap booking, ceramics and I have been attempting to teach myself to knit over the last two years. But I have also branched into party planning and weddings. I do intend to continue to learn new crafts for there are a great many more out there that I haven't even touched on yet.

But there you have it a bit about me and the almost 33 years I have been crafting. I plan on posting my W.I.Ps and finished projects as often as I can.
